Birthday Makeup Tutorial

Hi loves!

So I’d first like to start this post by saying I’m sorry for being absent for what seems like ages, I know I only on posted Sunday but I want to apologise for not uploading anything since, this week has been super busy with exams, and birthdays and preparing for my final few days in school, I am hoping to update more next week since I am free from school!

But today is my birthday! I turned 18 today and am now officially an adult, how scary! I have an exam in the morning so I’ve limited my celebrations to pizza and a glass of bucks fizz with mum, and the more…adventurous celebrations will happen tomorrow night!

So I asked you guys for a few ideas as to what to do for a birthday post and one suggestion was a birthday makeup look, so this is it today! For this look I’m using the W7 ‘In the Buff’ palette which is lovely and allows me to create quite a coppery/bronze look!

So here is the look!

1.First prime your eyes and apply a pale, neutral colour (1) across your eyelid.

2.Now define your crease with a bronze colour (2) and blend out so it doesn’t look too harsh.

3.Apply a slightly darker bronze (3) to the outer area of your lid and blend outwards, this gets rid of harsh lines and adds a slightly smokey effect.

4.To add more definition, apply a brown (4) to the outer V of you eyelid and blend slightly to prevent too much of a contrast.

5.Now apply a cream/white shade (5) in the center of your eyelid and blend to give it a softer appearance, this will help to define your eyes even more.

6.Now all you do is apply winged eyeliner and mascara and you’re finished!

So there is my birthday makeup tutorial, comments and feedback welcome!

What’s in my Holiday Makeup Bag

Hi loves!

I hope you’ve all had a good day, I went to my second self-defense class and I’m loving it, it’s so much fun and I already feel more confident in my ability to defend myself, I would absolutely suggest giving it a go! We also got some good news today and will be getting some kittens soon, we’re going to visit them at the rescue tomorrow and then hopefully we’ll be able to take them home sometime this week, I’m so excited!

Today’s post is on what I have in my holiday makeup bag, this year I’m lucky enough to be going on two holidays, one family holiday and my first girls holiday. I of course will be bringing my makeup with me but I have  a pretty large collection so I have to do the awful thing of selecting the essentials, so here is what is in my holiday makeup bag:

1.Clinique Super Balance Foundation-This is my go to foundation and gives a light to medium coverage, this is really lightweight and it feels like you’re not wearing any foundation, perfect for bringing on holiday.

IMG_1451 (2)

2.Number Seventeen Stay Time Concealer-When I’m away I don’t want to wear a full face of makeup everyday, especially if it’s hot, and this concealer is great for covering up my dark circles and blemishes, definitely a holiday must!

3.Number Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit-I still love a bit of contouring when I’m on holiday, and this palette is perfect because it is so compact and it has both a highlighter and contour shade, this is brilliant for going away since you only need one product to contour like a pro.

4.Collection Sheer Loose Powder-This is a really lightweight powder that does a great job of setting your makeup, it helps to smooth out any harsh lines and adds a lovely finish as well as making your makeup last ages!

5.BareMinerals Ready Blush-I love blusher so this is definitely coming on holiday with me, this is my favourite blusher and it adds such a rosy glow, it’s always in my makeup bag!

6.Makeup Revolution Awesome Double Flick Liquid Liner-As you all know I love eyeliner, so there is no way I’m going on holiday without this, the felt tip style makes it super easy to use and less likely to leak.

7.Mally Volumising Mascara-I mean, how could I possibly leave without mascara?

9.Maybelline Blushed Nudes-These colours are perfect for summer and you can create so many looks with just this palette which makes it a perfect holiday essential.

10.Clinique ‘Nude Pop’ Lipstick-A nude lipstick is definitely a holiday essential for me, it goes with everything so is the perfect lipstick to bring away with you!

11.Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara-This is a great product and keeps your brows looking defined but super natural, it’s such a great product so will definitely be coming on holiday with me.

So there are the products in my holiday makeup bag, what’s in yours?

Kiko Smart Lipstick Review

Hi guys!
Happy Thursday! I’m so glad we’re nearing the end of the week, today we took Hugo to the vets for his jabs, it’s the first time we’ve had to take him to the vets since we got him and his little meows broke my heart! He hates enclosed spaces so the cat carry was not appreciated, but even though he was super stressed he was so good, even if he is sulking now, haha.
So today’s post is a review of the Kiko Smart Lipstick, I got this just over a month ago when I went shopping and it’s quickly becoming one of my favourites.

First off the colour is super pigmented, I have it in the shade ‘Hazelnut’ which is a red/copper colour. It’s so bright and vibrant which is excellent and it just looks so good!

This lipstick is also pretty long lasting, it lasts a couple of hours before it needs to be replied which is great, and the colour doesn’t fade too quickly. It lasts ages with a lipliner, the Kiko Smart Liner in ‘Brick Red’ is a pretty much a perfect match and is another amazing product!

Another thing I love about this lipstick is that it doesn’t dry your lips out. The formula is lovely and it goes on so smoothly, it also feels pretty moisturising and it doesn’t cause you to have flaky lips which is a huge plus!

I also love the price of this product, it’s £3.90 which is fab, the quality of this lipstick is brilliant and so much better than I expected given the price. I mean, is there really anything better than a budget lipstick that’s great quality?

Overall I love this lipstick and it’s fast becoming one of my favourites, I would absolutely recommend this product, and I will definitely be buying from Kiko again soon!

Spring Smokey Eye Tutorial

Hi loves!

I hope all of you have had a good week and have a fun weekend planned! The three of us are doing a self-defense class tomorrow morning which should be pretty good, although I definitely failed at getting a bit fitter before we went, haha.

So I didn’t post yesterday, mostly because I was too tired but today I am sharing another Spring look! I love a smokey eye, it’s one of my favourite looks but for summer a dark eye can often feel a bit too wintery so I like to do it with lighter colours. So here is my Spring smokey eye look!

For this look I only use one palette, the Maybelline Blushed Nudes.

maybelline pallette spring 2

1.First apply a matte pink across your eyelid (1).

2.Now add a mid brown to the crease of your eye (2) and then blend to reduce harsh lines, and apply this colour along your lover lash line.

3.Apply a dark pink (3) to the outer lid and blend.

4.Next apply a dark brown (4) to the outer V of your lid and blend outwards.

5.Apply a white/light colour (5) to your brow bone and the inner corner of your eye. You can finish there, but I like to finish this off with winged eyeliner, then apply mascara and you’re done!

There is my Spring smokey eye look! I’m hoping to get another spring makeup look up next week and it will probably be my last as I’ll start looking toward more summer style makeup, comments and feedback welcome!

5 Makup Items I couldn’t Live Without

Hi loves!

I hope you’ve all had a cracking day, I’m so glad tomorrow is Wednesday so we’re halfway through the week, even though I’ve only done one day so far, haha. I’m so so excited that the weather is starting to pick up and I can’t wait to start doing some posts based round the warmer weather!

But today I’m doing a post on the 5 makeup products I can’t live without! So I have done a post on my essential makeup products (you can see it here) but I thought I’d narrow it down further so that you guys can have a better idea of what products I really love!

1.Clinique Superbalance Foundation-This is definitely still my favourite foundation, it’s fab for combination skin and gives light to medium coverage. It’s a very buildable foundation which is great and it goes on beautifully! Plus they do a large range of shades which is another huge plus! You can see a full review here.

2.Makeup Revolution Awesome Double Flick Thick and Thin Liner-So I was such a loyal Rimmel liner user, and while I still love it, this has actually overtaken it in terms of a necessity. After seeing Anita from La Bella Derma recommend it I knew I had to try it and I love it! It makes getting the perfect wing so easy, the felt tip style makes is super easy to use, the colour is super pigmented and it lasts all day!

3.Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara-This is absolutely my go to brow product, it gives you such a natural looking brow and you don’t need to use additional products if you don’t want to. It’s just such a necessity for me!

4.BareMinerals Ready Blush ‘The One’-This is my all time favourite blush, it’s so pretty and gives you a lovely rosy look. It goes on amazingly and really evenly and lasts all day! This will always make my top list.

5.Collection Sheer Loose Powder-This is my favourite setting powder, it’s really inexpensive and gives your makeup a beautiful finish. My makeup always looks flawless when I’ve got this on, it blends out any harsh lines and it really does make your makeup last, definitely one I suggest trying!

So there are the 5 makeup products I couldn’t live without, I’d  love to hear some of yours!

Spring Makeup Look Tutorial

Hello lovelies!

Happy Friday!  I have finally rid myself of my coursework and what a relief that is! I’m so glad it’s a long weekend, I definitely need to catch up on some much needed sleep!

So today I’m sharing a spring makeup look with you, I’m hoping to share a short series of spring looks over the next few weeks, so the first one is here today!

I love this look because it adds a slight pop of colour without being too bright. I’ve created this look using only two palettes, the Maybelline Blushed Nudes and Makeup Revolution Mermaids Vs Unicorns palette. So here is the look:

spring colour.jpg

1.First you just need to prime your eyes and apply a pale pink (1) across three-quarters of your eye lid.

2.Now apply a mid blue (2) to the outer lid.

spring 1.jpg

3.In the crease apply a darker blue (3) to the crease above the blue shadow and a darker pink (4) in the crease above the pink shadow, and blend it out, making sure to blend the two colours together on your eyelid to get rid of any harsh lines.

spring 2.jpg

4.Now all you do is apply some mascara, I tend to apply some highlighter to my brow bone to finish and you’re done!

So there it is, a super easy spring makeup look, I would finish this off with a nude lipstick, I’m currently loving the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in ‘Nudist’. Keep an eye out for my other spring makeup looks coming up, comments and feedback welcome!

Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Brow Kit Review

Hi beauties!

I hope you’ve all been having a great week and have a brilliant weekend ahead! I am so glad it’s the weekend even if it does mean that I’m that bit closer to exams.

So a couple of days ago I did a super easy brows tutorial and today I am going to be reviewing one of the products I used! I only recently bought this brow kit but it has quickly made its way into my everyday routine, so here is a full review!

First off I love the fact this is a powder kit, I have never been keen to try a gel kit because I like to have a natural looking brow, plus the skill I would require to nail it is more than I possess. The fact this is a powder kit makes it really easy to achieve a defined but natural looking brow, you can also build up the colour for a more defined look really easily.

The colours are really pigmented, this makes it even easier to define your brows. There are three colours in this kit which is fab because it means you can detail your brows really clearly with the range of colours.

It also comes with a wax cream which I love! It makes it so easy to set my brows which is great. You only need a small amount which is even better and it adds a lovely finish to your eyebrows.

The product is really long lasting too which is excellent, I find I can put this on in the morning and it lasts all day. It requires no touch ups and looks just as good when I get home as when I left in the morning.

The brush is a great shape, it’s angled so works really well to fill in your brows and means you’re able to define the arch and tail of your brow really well. The size of the product is also really compact so if you do feel you need to bring it with you for quick touch ups you can do so really easily.

The only slightly negative thing I would have to say about this product, and it isn’t even really a negative, but the product is surprisingly light considering I have it in ‘Medium-Dark’. I would say that this product would be best for those with dark blonde to mid-brown hair or for redheads. This is the only even slightly bad thing I have to say about this product and I really hope they make a darker shade so that more people will be able to use it.

Overall I love this product, I cannot fault the quality of it and it is my favourite brow product I’ve tried, and for £2.50 I would absolutely recommend giving this a go!

Super Easy Brow Tutorial

Hi loves!

I hope you’ve all had a good Wednesday, I’m so glad we’re halfway through the week, I’m absolutely knackered and can’t wait for a break. It’s all go at the minute and I’m working furiously to get my coursework complete before the deadline, I just need to cut down 1300 words! If I never look at one of the Tudor monarchs again it’ll be too soon!

Today’s post is a really easy brow tutorial. Now when I say easy I genuinely do mean easy, I just don’t have the time in the morning to be faffing about with my brows, it’s a choice between perfect brows and my beloved winged eyeliner, and obviously my liner wins every time; to make up for this I now have a very simple but effective brow routine so that they look good with minimal effort. I find simple works best for me with regards to my eyebrows because I love a natural looking brow, so that’s what I’m sharing with you now!

I only use two products for this look, the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting  Mascara in Dark Brown and the Makeup Revolution Brow Kit in Medium Dark.

1.So first I just brush my brows into place using an old brow brush I’ve had for ages but an old mascara wand works just as well.

2.Now I use the medium colour (1) to draw the outline my brows, to do this I just use the product to follow the natural shape of my brows.

3.Now all I do is fill them in, I use the lightest colour (2) at the front/thickest part of my brow and then I use the darkest colour (3) to fill in the rest of my brow and to draw a tiny tail on my brows to elongate them slightly. To fill them in all I do is use the brush in small strokes following the direction of my hairs.

4.To finish off I go over my brows with the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara and then set them with the wax cream (4), I then tend to apply some highlighter under and above the arch of my brow and you’re done!

So there is my super easy brow tutorial, comments and feedback welcome!

Save or Splurge

Hi loves!
I hope you’re all having a great Saturday! I stayed in today but did a bit of online shopping (my favourite activity) and have ordered a dress and some shoes for my prom, so now I just need to get through the A Levels and I’m set!

Today I’m doing a post on what products are worth saving or splurging on, as you probably already know I am massively into budget makeup since I’m still in school so don’t have the means to constantly purchase high-end products, but there are some things I think are absolutely worth the splurge while others are worth the save.

Foundation: Splurge

This is definitely a product that I think is worth the extra money, while there are some really good inexpensive foundations, as a general rule I think foundation is absolutely worth the splurge. A good foundation provides a good base for the rest of your makeup which I think is so important, I also think it’s worth splurging on because it sits so close to the skin, I’ve had cheaper foundation that have caused me to breakout, have really dry skin etc. and I have to say the high-end foundations I’ve tried tend not to do this. Foundation is definitely worth the splurge in my opinion!

Mascara: Save

There are so many good, cheaper mascara’s out there, I absolutely think that this is a product you can save on. While I am currently using a slightly more expensive mascara, I personally love the Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara, and I always look towards drugstore mascara when I need a new one, this is an area that I really think slurping isn’t worth it,  save all the way!

Eyeliner: Save

Again this is another save product for me, there are a lot of inexpensive eyeliners that are super pigmented and long lasting, as well as being really easy to apply. My favourite eyeliner is the Rimmel Exaggerate Liner, you don’t need to spend £30 for a liner that you can create a good cat eye with!

Contour and highlight: Save

While some people feel that you need to spend more to get a contour product that wears well and is long lasting, I disagree, I think cheaper contour products can last just as long, especially powder contour. A couple of my favourite ones are the Makeup Revolution Cream Contour Palette (a review for which you can find here) and the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit (review here).

Lipstick: Splurge

I do have some gorgeous budget lipsticks, a particular favourite is the Kiko Smart Lipstick, but overall I would have to say I think lipsticks are worth the splurge! They, in my experience, generally last longer, have a great finish and the colour is usually more vibrant, I absolutely think they’re worth the bit of extra money. I love MAC and Clinique lipsticks, they have great colours and are of a great quality, they’re so worth the money!

Eyeshadow: Save

I know that high end eye shadows tend to be very pigmented but I think that so many inexpensive eye shadow palette are equally pigmented. By compromising on cost and buying something cheaper I don’t think you compromise on quality, so many low-cost palettes have such vibrant shadows that go on beautifully and last ages! I love the Maybelline Blushed Nudes Palette and the Collection eyes uncovered palettes, and would so suggest saving on this particular makeup product!

So there are just a few of the products I think are worth saving or splurging on! I’d love to know what products you thank are or aren’t worth the money!

My Favourites: Collection

Hi guys!

I hope you’re all well, it was my brothers 6th birthday today, so we spent an evening enjoying the chaos that is a kid’s birthday, I feel I need a long sleep now!
Today’s post is something new and if you guys like it something I might try to do monthly. Today I’m sharing my favourite products from the brand Collection, I hope to share my favourites from a particular brand once a month, so please let me know what you think of this and whether or not it’s a good idea to continue with!

I love Collection and their products so narrowing it down to a few favourites was so hard but here they are:

Speedy Highlighter– I have done a full review of this product (which you can find here) and I love it! It’s such a lovely highlighter and has just the right amount of shimmer to add a noticeable but subtle glow to your face. It’s super easy to apply because of its design you just swipe it across wherever you need. The product itself is so nice, it’s quite creamy and glides on really smoothly, it’s pretty long-lasting and is an absolutely winning highlighter for me!

Sheer Loose Powder-This is absolutely my go to finishing powder, it’s so inexpensive which is brilliant if you’re on a budget, and it does such a fab job of setting my makeup. I apply it pretty generously and it makes my skin look so smooth and pretty much flawless, it’s also great if you just need a little extra help to blend out a specific product because it just helps to give your makeup a really polished look. This is one of my makeup essentials.

Eyes Uncovered Nude Grey Palette-You guys will have seen me use this palette for so many makeup looks already, I’m a bit obsessed, haha. However, I think I have such good reason to be, the price is unbeatable, and the quality is amazing, the shadows go on beautifully, are super pigmented and just look generally amazing. I saw the other day that they have a rose palette out now and I can’t wait to get my hands on it if the quality is anything like this one, this is a makeup must!

#BlushAndGlow Blush Palette-This is actually my sisters makeup rather than my own but it’s still a favourite of mine to use both on me and her, the blush colours are brilliant and give you a really rosy glow, the contour shade is great and is really buildable so you’re able to create both a subtle and more defined look. The highlighter colour is also lovely, it has a very subtle shimmer which looks beautiful when it catches the light, so if you’re like me and only want a subtle highlight then this will work really well for you. It’s a powder contour palette and is one of the best I’ve come across, it’s great!

#YourStyleYourMood Eye Shadow Palette-Another eye shadow palette but this brand do such great eye shadows! I love this palette because you get two sets of colours, some pinks/purples and some browns, this was such a good point for me because it felt like I was getting two palettes for the price of one, plus they’re really good to mix and match with each other. Again they’re really pigmented and go on really well, I absolutely love this brands eye shadow palettes.

So there are my top 5 Collection products, I can’t express my love for this brand enough, I think their products are great and are of an excellent quality and if you haven’t tried them out already then you are missing out

Comments and feedback welcome!
