I hope your week is going well so far! I’ve been super busy with school and after far too much procrastination I have finally made myself a revision schedule so I’m prepared for this summer, maybe I’ll fulfill my resolution of getting organised after all, haha.
Today I’m sharing a review for the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer with you, I bought this ages ago so I thought I would share my opinions of it with you lovely people!
One of the first things I have to say is that the colour is amazing! I have this in the colour Eclipse which is a plum/dark red colour. It’s super pigmented and vibrant which I love and looks really good on, so I have absolutely no complaints about that.
As well as having a great colour it is also quite long lasting. You definitely need to reapply this throughout the day to keep it looking fresh, however, it does last longer than I expected, the colour particularly fades in the center of your lips, but that it to be expected over the day so it’s not something I find to be a big problem.
Another thing I really like about this is the applicator; the shape of the brush is actually really good and makes applying it really easy, while I still tend to apply it with a lip brush I have no problems applying it with the applicator provided. The shape of the applicator also means that it is much easier to get a smooth application of the product as it makes it almost effortless to follow the shape of your lips, definitely a huge plus!
One thing I’m not a huge fan of is that it can get quite messy. It does take a while to dry properly which isn’t too bad but it can mean that it gets everywhere after applying it if you’re not careful, it doesn’t often happen but it can be quite frustrating when it does. I personally wouldn’t consider this a major problem but it is definitely something that may be a problem for others.
Another downside to this product is that it can bleed throughout the day and because the colour is so pigmented this can be quite noticeable. This is remedied fairly easily by using lip liner over the outline of the lips, so again, I wouldn’t consider this to be a huge problem but it is definitely a factor to consider when using this product.
Overall I would recommend this product, I wouldn’t suggest it for everyday use due to the fact it does require a certain amount of maintenance throughout the day, which is more than some alternative lip products. The colour alone though would lead me to recommend this product because it is so gorgeous and super opaque which is brilliant and better than a lot of other lip products I have tried. I would definitely recommend giving this product a go!
Any feedback and comments are welcome!
